37 First Class Brains as EKSU Graduates 10,206 Students
37 students bagged First Class Honours as EKSU produce 10,206 graduates (2015/2016 academic set). The 22nd convocation ceremony held on Friday, 31st of March, 2017 made this crystal-clear.
Among the 37 students who graduated First Class Hons, Miss Damilola Eunice Adedeji of the Department of Plant Science, Faculty of Science emerged the best graduating student with CGPA of 4.77.
It is also important to note that this achievement is remarkable in the history of the university.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Oye Bandele, said this since 29th of March at a meeting. Now, we have seen the reality at the 22nd convocation ceremony in the university.
Giving a breakdown, Bandele said,
37 students bagged First Class Honours, 1638 made Second Class Upper and 5,395 Second Class Lower.~he concluded.
3012 got Third Class and 124 Pass
As indicated by him, 81 students will get their Ph.D.; 169 Masters; 85 Professional Masters and 63 Postgraduate Diplomas.
Bandele said the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II; Gombe State Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo, Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi and House of Representatives part Oladipupo Adebutu will be met with honorary doctorate degrees.
The convocation lecture titled: "Breaking the Jinx: The Cyclical Nature of Nigeria's Problems" will be conveyed by previous Pro-Chancellor/Chairman of Council of the University of Ibadan and prominent legal counselor, Wole Olanipekun.
